Our Journey

Built on curiosity, craftsmanship, and care since 1996

InfraredTeam was founded in 1996 by Craig Vaughn, a North Texas native and early pioneer in infrared thermography. Long before thermal imaging became mainstream, Craig recognized its potential to transform preventive maintenance and reliability programs across industrial and commercial facilities.

With a background in electrical and mechanical systems, Craig earned his Level III Thermographer certification in the late ’90s—becoming one of the first in the region to achieve that distinction. His technical precision and commitment to integrity quickly earned the trust of clients throughout Dallas–Fort Worth. By the early 2000s, InfraredTeam began to grow, adding skilled technicians who shared Craig’s values. Many of those early hires are still with the company today.

By the early 2020s, InfraredTeam had become one of the most respected names in the industry—recognized for technical accuracy, long-term client relationships, and a people-first culture.

In 2024, founder Craig Vaughn transitioned leadership to Chris, Micah, and Joel Ray—three brothers and lifelong family friends who had long admired the company's mission.

Under the Ray brothers’ leadership, InfraredTeam has modernized its brand, revamped its website, and implemented tools like AI-enhanced reporting, automation, and integrated client platforms—all while remaining rooted in the company’s founding principles.
In 2024 and 2025, the company:
  • Secured national partnerships with some of the world’s largest entertainment and data center brands
  • Expanded work to nearly 40 U.S. states
  • Maintained one of the highest ratios of Level III thermographers in the industry
